Spiders



Bishop, N. (2007). Spiders. New York: Scholastic.

Spiders come in many different sizes and colors.  Mr. Bishop captured many spiders in their habitat and gave many interesting facts about spiders.

Lesson Plan using this book:
The teacher will read the book to the students.  After the reading talk about the different types of spiders in the book.  Using a graph with the following categories: color, size, habitat and poisonous or not; students will draw or have a picture to put into the correct category.  Discuss the findings on the graph.

(10)  Organisms and environments. The student knows that organisms resemble their parents and have structures and processes that help them survive within their environments. The student is expected to:
(A)  sort plants and animals into groups based on physical characteristics such as color, size, body covering, or leaf shape;
(B)  identify parts of plants such as roots, stem, and leaves and parts of animals such as head, eyes, and limbs;
